Friday Frenzy

I meant to post this on Friday but I forgot to hit 'publish'... isn't that the story of my life?
  • The latest and greatest 3D sonogram from yesterday's appointment:
Nathan thinks he/she looks like me... and they told us it's sporting some hair! The blob on the left is the placenta which the nugget was happily snuggled up to the entire time. The sonographer even took a cowbell, yes a freaking COWBELL, and banged it against my belly to get it to move. The babe did a little moving and shaking but stayed nestled in there making this the best shot she could get. It's already sooo stubborn; just like dad.
  • Chocolate Chip Cookies. Can't get enough of them. I follow the recipe on the back of the Nestle bag and add 1 packet of Jell-O Vanilla Pudding to the dry ingredients (Ms. Kristin gave me that tip and I definitely thinks it makes them especially moist). They are dee-lish. And I wonder why I've gained so much weight. Whoopsie.
  • Baby Names. We have a list going and there are definitely a couple of names we really like but I feel like we should keep looking. There are just soooo many names out there it's giving me anxiety.

One moment please

I have a confession. Even though we already got married I still like looking at wedding blogs. I'm a sucker for a good wedding and love seeing how each wedding can be so perfectly different and special to each and every bride. The photos are usually stunning as well.

There are so many times at weddings where you may not have seen it for yourself but the photographer captures it seamlessly and that moment moves you to tears or makes you laugh. Well, I found a website that shares those perfect moments.

Here's a little "About Us" from Moment Junkie

Moment Junkie is a blog devoted to showcasing the best in contemporary wedding photojournalism, with a focus on moments between people that are timeless, heartbreaking, hilarious, or all of the above. We love gorgeous portraits and well-planned details, but so often we’ve found that the photos we hold most dear — the ones we would give anything to hold onto — are those that encapsulate a memorable moment or remind us of how we felt as much as they show us how we looked. So we’re here to tell those stories, with submissions from some of the best working photographers around today.

This makes me sooooo happy. xo

One shot wonder

Yeah, I've been off in my own world the past several months. Sorry. I miss blogging though. I miss taking pictures too. I've started approximately 50 blogposts but haven't pushed 'Publish' on any of them for some odd reason. A lot has happened since I left off... Biggest news: I'm pregnant. Let's just say we had a really good time at our wedding. Sure, this little nugget wasn't planned but we knew we wanted to start a family sooner than later so we just happened to start RIGHT AWAY. Wham. Bam. Thank you, Ma'am.

I won't bore you with the details but I was sick the first trimester (hence the last post being about going to the ER with hives... oh, we knew I was preggo but didn't know if the babe was the culprit - luckily haven't had them since), second trimester breezed by with getting fat and here we are nearly 7 weeks away from meeting our sweet little one.

Is it a boy or a girl? Beats me. We decided to wait and see. I think we are leaning towards boy.  It's pretty surreal thinking there might be a tiny penis and a set of balls inside of me. Yeah, I went there.

Only 18 weeks here but I just love it's little profile.

No bees allowed!

I've been sick... I don't know what happened but my body has literally had enough of me for some reason. They came on Saturday... small, itchy blotches that I've come to know over the years as hives. I seem to get them when anything terribly stressful comes along like right before the wedding but never like this. By Sunday my feet and hands were swollen and I could barely walk. Monday came and I was told to go to the ER as my throat was swollen and they feared my breathing was in jeopardy. It was not as I could yell at Nathan to bring me my toothbrush and a bowl so I could brush my teeth in bed! Did I mention it hurt to walk? So even though I didn't think this was necessary; I also didn't want to wait any longer for someone to make these damn hives go away. After two hours of sitting, 5 minutes with a doctor, sitting some more, taking 2 benedryl, 5 minutes of answering questions from a nurse, sitting some more... then they sent me home. I continued to take 2 benedryl every 4 hours, 1 zantec every 12 hours, and 2 tylenol every 6 hours for the next two days... finally my hands started feeling normal again and I could walk! It was a miracle. No word on what had hit me like a ton of bricks. I hadn't eatten anything different, hadn't changed detergents, body washes, etc. It was freaking weird.

Now that I'm better I'm wondering how I can get Nathan to bring my toothbrush and a bowl to me from now on... any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Friday Frenzy

  • Holiday treats... I've probably gained 10 lbs. eating delicious cookies and snacks that seem to be ever-so-present during this time of year. I love you but I really loathe you.
  • Damn you, Auto Correct... makes me laugh. Nuff said.
  • Christmas lights... we went last weekend (with hot cocoa) driving around, looking at all the twinkling lights.
  • Wedding pictures... oh how I can't stop looking at our wedding pictures! They are be-a-utiful. A big shout-out to the amazing and oh-so-talented Joel & Kara Carter from Carter Photography & Design.
Checking myself out.
Still some beautiful fall foliage. Yes!

Nathan insisted on wearing his "signature" look for the reception. Makes me love him even more...

    Everyone gave amazing speeches...

Of course we had to do Hava Nagila!

Our first dance... though not choreographed, we put on a show for everyone.
I will share more pics later. I can't help but smile seeing these and remembering how wonderful/amazing/memorable/special/meaningful/awesome this whole weekend was... I have never felt so much love. Woooo... getting a little teary-eyed.

I'll leave you with a special video Danny, Nathan's twin, made and showed at our rehearsal dinner. Classic.

Ob-sessed

I've been stalking this bag for awhile now. I'm a huge fan of Rebecca Minkoff and when I saw this bag I couldn't contain my drool. I was lucky enough to snap up her M.A.C (Morning After Clutch) bag from one of my sale sites in purple croc, but this bag is heavenly. The only downside is the pricetag. I'm waiting anxiously for it to go on sale though I doubt I'll get it even then as I'm supposed to be saving for our honeymoon/our life. It sucks getting older and having to worry about money... wah waaahhh. ;)

It also comes in black but I'm loving this persimmon color.

Quintessential boy

My friend Kate had her second baby, Bo (short for Robert), mere weeks before Nater and I got married. Their first was the sweet Mary Jane who happened to be one of my flowergirls and because they waited again to find out what they were having, they had nothing for little boys. So of course I was thrilled to buy him something only suitable for a little man like himself.

Ta-dah! He was a stud in his tie onesie and matching booties. :) Just adorable.

Here's some other quintessentially boy gifts I found on etsy:

Pirate Booties… Arrrrrgh…
